Upol Isopon P40 Fibre Glass Filler with Hardener and Applicator. 250ml Tub

Fibre glass reinforced ISOPON P.40 BODY FILLER FOR HOLES is the ideal choice for repairing holes up to 75mm wide in most types of metal. It’s easy to mix and can be used with ISOPON Aluminum Mesh to bridge larger holes and give a tough, durable repair. Just follow the simple instructions in the guide for a quick and easy repair that’s ready for finishing.

STEP – 1. PREPERATION

Wearing protective gloves, grind away or cut out any rust and hammer back any sharp edges of the damage area.
Remove any paint from the damaged area and approximately 25mm around it with a course grit sandpaper roughen the bare metal surface.
Wipe away loose particles and remove any grease. The area should now be clean, dry and free from loose paint, rust, grit and grease.

STEP 2 – MIXING

Measure out required amount of hardener and paste. As a simple guide to the ratio, you will need ‘golf ball’ size of paste to 2 ‘peas’ size of hardener.
Using the applicator, mix the paste and hardener together on a clean surface until you get a uniform colour. Thorough mixing is important to ensure best results.

STEP 3 – APPLICATION

Apply the P.40 Body Filler for Holes in one layer so the final surface is not quite flush with the surface.

For larger holes over 25mm wide-

Cut a piece of aluminum mesh 25mm larger than the hole before mixing the P.40 Body Filler for Holes to affix the mesh to the underside of the repair.

When set, mix up more P.40 Body Filler for Holes and apply a layer to cover the mesh (including the clean, dry metal around it). Allow to dry for 20-30 minutes.
When dry, you will effectively have a mesh plate that is ‘welded’ to the underside of the repair. The indentation and surface of the prepared area can now be filled with P.38 multi-purpose body filler.
